Current Issue
Dear Forensic Scientists,
We are pleased to present the final issue of the year of our journal. Throughout our publication journey, which we continue with the same enthusiasm as on the first day, the increase we have observed in both the volume and quality of submissions to our journal is an important reflection of progress in the field of forensic sciences. The dedication of our valued authors and reviewers has been essential to this achievement.
We observe that current international discussions are increasingly shaped around artificial intelligence, moving beyond the classical methods of forensic science. In forensic genetics, artificial intelligence and probabilistic genotyping approaches for resolving DNA mixtures, as well as standardization initiatives in AI-assisted reporting, provide important insights into the future. In the field of digital evidence, studies on the detection of deepfakes and synthetic media are also rapidly gaining prominence. This transformation brings issues of data security, ethics, and legal responsibility to the forefront. Will we resist these waves of change, or will we move forward with them? We will continue our journey with a publishing approach that does not merely observe this transformation, but actively engages in its discussion within the framework of scientific evidence, ethical principles, and legal responsibility.
The Bulletin of Legal Medicine continues to strengthen its scientific impact in the field of forensic sciences through the efforts and willingness to share of contributing researchers. We sincerely thank all authors who have submitted their work to our journal and would like to emphasize that we stand by them in their journey of scholarly production. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our reviewers for their indispensable role in maintaining scientific quality through their meticulous and devoted contributions to the publication process.
